Best Friends Forever Conference 2010
Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do you need to be an instructor to attend?
Anyone can attend BFFC! All are
invited, including: shelter staff, animal control officers, groomers,
daycare personnel, animal health professionals, interested pet owners, hobby trainers, people who
hope to be instructors in the future, teaching assistants, and
experienced instructors.
2) Will I be "certified" after attending BFFC?
BFFC does not "certify" conference participants. Although
getting "certified" is the new trend in benchmarks for dog
trainers, it is important to understand that standardized testing and
levels of competency are what makes for meaningful certification.
Dogs of Course does not believe that attendance at this conference
would warrant certification. However, we will provide a certificate of
attendance. Your certificate can be displayed at your club or training center to
show that you value continuing education. We believe this to be an
important hallmark of a good instructor.
Continuing education credits will be provided for CPDT-KA and IAABC members.
3) Do I get to select what session I want to attend or will I be
assigned?
It is totally up to you to select the session you would like to
attend when there is a choice. If the session does not meet your needs or keep your interest you are
welcome to quietly leave and join another session.
4) How many people will be in the classes?
Because each participant will be selecting her/his sessions, it is
hard to say how many will be in each class. We have selected a
teaching format ( lecture, video demonstrations) that should be
effective and interesting no matter the size of the group. Participant
registration is limited to about 175 at this time.
6) Can you hook me up with a roommate or ride share?
We are happy to take your information and keep a list for those interested but it is your responsibility to make your travel arrangements.
7) Is there shuttle service to the host hotel?
There are shuttle and taxi services. Specific information is on the 'Travel & Hotel" section.
9) How can I print out the information properly?
By changing your paper orientation to landscape (from portrait) all
the information on the website can be printed out on regular paper.
10) How do I pay now if I did not pay at the time I registered?
By Credit Card: Contact Dana Crevling at Dogs of Course and we will send you a PayPal bill for the amount owed.

included on a separate piece of paper in the envelope.
If you can't remember how much you owe, please e-mail Dana
at Dogs of Course.
11) When will I get a registration confirmation?
You will receive an e-mail within one business week of payment to confirm
that you completed registration.
12) Will you be running BFFC in other parts of the country?
This conference is being held to raise funds for the St Hubert's Animal Welfare Capital Campaign. The speakers and staff have all come together for this specific purpose. At this time, we do not expect to repeat this event.
13) I am having trouble making hotel
reservations. What now?
In order to get the special
conference rate at the host hotel you need to call for reservations.
When talking to the reservation desk, tell them you are with Best
Friends Forever Conference. You can not access our special room rates
over the internet.
